Position Description
Technology Manager will oversee the development, technical design, user interface, third party application technology integration, and ongoing site architecture changes for the website. Additionally, this role will be responsible for managing technology teams from requirements definition and work effort sizing, through design, development and implementation.
- Work with the larger Dow Jones IT organization to establish technology strategy at an application level, and overall third-party integration planning. Strategic planning in terms of assessing where such integrations into Dow Jones platforms and applications make sense is required
- Provide technical leadership and project management for multi-phased project including strong understanding of sizing and scoping of technical development.
- Work with Agile Development methodology and weekly release cycles, soliciting frequent feedback from business stakeholders and integrating into subsequent releases
- Lead the estimation effort for projects and work to identify and manage risk, while retaining sense of speed and flexibility
- Manage and mentor team comprised of up to 12 consultants and staff developers and foster spirit of ownership and accountability of various product modules
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and degree in Computer Science.
- Must have experience managing agile product release implementations
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration, package implementation and interactive design architecture experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency and minimum of 5+ years working with ASP.NET, and intimate knowledge of integration of design assets (CSS and HTML) into ASP.NET framework
- Experience with MDC Pattern development
- Extensive experience with: Visual studio 2008 /.NET 3.5, SQL 2005 -2008 standard edition, and Client side Javascript development
- Experience in building software within Job Board space is a huge plus
