Job Description:

OVERALL OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE
Manage the System Engineering team that supports all Business Development, Sales Engineering, and System Delivery activities for the region (Americas or International) lottery group. Provide oversight of the organization, leadership in the technology design and delivery functions and establish strategic improvements in the execution of the System Engineering program for the region (Americas / International).
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY
Pre-Sales
- Establish and maintain business relationships with the Global Operations and Global Technology Solutions leadership throughout the region.
- Coordination and assignment of all System Engineering activities throughout the region.
- Review all System Delivery estimates generated by the System Engineers within the region.
- Approval of all System Delivery estimates generated by the Systems Engineers within the region with a total value of $1M or less.
- Accountable for developing programs to reduce estimation variance in system deliveries.
- Ensuring all SEs develop and maintain appropriate Technical Roadmaps for their region.
- Escalation point for all proposal, Technical Strategy and contract technical reviews conducted by the SEs.
Systems Delivery
- Escalation point for technical issues from the System Engineers associated with their delivery responsibilities.
- Sit on the PMO Change Advisory Board representing region in the approval of Change Requests associated with project deliveries – Ensure feedback loop to Sales Engineering process where appropriate for process improvement.
- Enforce compliance with GTECH Intellectual Property Policy throughout the System Engineering organizaiton.
Optimization Programs
- Establish and management of strategic improvement initiatives for the System Engineering program.
Communication
- Facilitate communication between the Product Development organization and the System Engineering team on all product development and release activities.
- Work with the Product Development organization to align product developments activities to the sales pipeline.
- Work with other GTS leaders in the proper role responsibility alignment for delivery staff to project activities.
Resource Management & Employee Development
- Oversight and management of the System Engineering staff aligned to support the Americas Lottery Group.
- Maintain industry knowledge and competition awareness on technical products, services and solutions.
- Responsible for the training & development program for all System Engineers within the region (product training, technology training and domain training)
SECONDARY
- Maintain high level understanding of customer business expectations throughout the region.
- Advise the Product Development organization on product baseline enhancements.
SCOPE

Responsible for Sales Engineering (proposal, system design, estimation, customer presentation/influence, etc) and Systems Delivery (detailed system design, technical leadership, project technical oversight, etc). Influences Product Development, Project Management and over all system implementation.

Senior Oversight for all sales & delivery activities throughout the Americas region influencing all delivery and sales functions.

Complex customer and technical issues guiding the most senior technical engineers within GTECH in their challenges.
