Director of Technology
Job Description:
Responsible for future development and overall oversight of all technical aspects of the Internet-facing features of the suite of products our client has to offer. He/She is responsible for maintaining current products, is the technical lead on development of new products, will drive technical analysis, programming, application development and provide all technical assistance and future technical thought leadership related to websites that serve and support the product line.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing, maintaining and improving performance tools and mission critical web sites, as well as processes and software applications to support the sites.
- Specific features will include Content Management, Content aggregation and integration (Feeds), Core functional modules, user-registration and preference settings, database design, performance metrics as well as Ad serving and E-Commerce capabilities.
- Qualifications BS/PA degree in Computer Science, engineering, data communications or equivalent work experience is required.
- Possess excellent analytical skills.
- Previous 5 + years on multiple hardware platforms and operating systems, using JAVA or JSP. Solid and varied programming skills (Java, PERL) minimum 5 years experience.
- Indepth Experience (3-5 years ) with XML and/or XML/XSL.
- Understanding and experience in the development ( code based ) of relational database structures and concepts, database administration, SQL and Oracle programming structures and Query languages.
- Extensive familiarity with various application server environments * WebLogic ( 6.1 or higher ) , JBOSS.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and adjust priorities based on workload with minimum supervision.
- Ability to manage and train staff. Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communications skills and the ability to communicate technical needs in context of business requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with co-workers and end user customers.
