Director of Regional Operations - BPLA
Job Description:
The Director of Regional Operations will provide strong leadership to effectively develop & grow a sustainable supply chain in Latin America that achieves superior value in quality, cost, and delivery. The position will manage all receiving, storage, kitting, engineering, integration, customization and safety, quality and shipping activities related to supporting our customers’ requirements. The Director will be required to hire, coordinate, and direct a diverse personnel team for all Latin American facilities.
Major Essential Functions:
- In cooperation with the regional executive team, provide overall supply chain leadership and strategic direction for Latin America operations.
- Manage all multiple distribution centers in Latin America with an emphasis on implementing new facilities & development of associates.
- Optimize operations structure & resources to achieve the lowest possible supply chain costs while delivering consistent & high levels of service.
- In collaboration with the Sales & Executive teams, develop, guide, and promote strategic supply chain & customized solutions.
- Serve as the regional Supply Chain single point of contact to key customer stakeholders post implementation. This includes managing relationships with high level customer contacts.
- Develops, directs, and coordinates activities of subordinate managers and supervisors in supporting the sales & marketing efforts of the company.
- Develop & execute an infrastructure to support long term growth of the Company.
- Develop and review monthly & quarterly operational reports, metrics, and productivity standards for all functional areas.
- Monitor & communicate performance issues and manage significant problem areas to ensure needed improvements.
- Develops standard operating procedures & job descriptions in accordance with Brightpoint specifications.

Experience and Skills:
Basic Required
- BA or BS in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations, or Engineering. An MBA is a plus but not required.
- About 8+ years of warehouse and distribution operations management experience.
- Fluent in Spanish & English; Portuguese is a plus but not required.
Other Required
- Results-oriented, a self-starter, and an excellent communicator who has demonstrated the ability to operate in a fast paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to grow & sustrain an organization.
- Strong relationship building skills and ability to implement changes.
- APICS, Six Sigma or similar training preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel), Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge warehouse management, materials management, and labor tracking systems.
- Estimated Travel: 80%
