Chief Technology Officer
Job Description:
Chase Winters Worldwide (a leading retained executive search firm) is currently conducting a search engagement for the Chief Technology Officer for a premier digital media services and technology company.
Reporting directly to the President, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for establishing and aligning the company’s technology vision with business strategy and leading all aspects of the company’s technology development and information systems operations.
As the company’s top technology executive, the CTO plays an integral role in helping to set the company’s overall strategic direction. Externally, he/she will represent the Company, including attending joint client planning sessions to strengthen relationships with key clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities
· Working with Executive Team in developing long-term product vision and roadmap
· Leading strategic technological planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies and products.
· Actively participating in the development and implementation of the company’s product strategy and the development of the product roadmap.
· Establishing technical standards and processes of direction and control to ensure objectives are achieved, risks are managed and development and information technology operations resources are used responsibly.
· Analyzing and improving upon technology standards across the organization to maintain a technological and competitive edge within the market.
· Identifying opportunities and risks for delivering our products and services including identification of competitive products/services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to business success.
· Ensuring the company’s internal technological systems and processes and customer-facing products and services comply with community expectations and applicable laws and regulations for privacy, security, and social responsibility.
Requirements
· Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related filed required, MS/MBA preferred.
· Senior level management experience in a web based software development environment with experience in open source technologies managing web based software development and information technology operations teams.
· Candidates must have extensive experience in an open source (Ruby, Rails) solution environment with Rapid Application Development (RAD), AGILE, and/or SCRUM.
· Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively direct the overall Technology Operations in order to maximize revenues and profits, servicing internal and external clients’ IT related operational needs.
· Demonstrated ability to discern user requirements as communicated from product management/product marketing and develop specifications for web-based products and services that meet consumer needs and/or solve business problems.
· Prospective candidates will also be knowledgeable and experienced in:
- System administration and web server configuration
-Internet protocols and RFC standards
- Database management systems
- Managing and architecting IT infrastructure running Windows
- Information security vulnerabilities and risk management
